Venice High School was awarded Best School on The Westside by “The Argonaut,” a Los Angeles community newspaper on Oct 1. Venice was also ranked as one of California’s top high schools by the 2015 US News and World Report.

Here at Venice High, students can enroll in five programs to help them get into college: the STEMM Magnet, the World Languages and Global Studies Magnet, the Media, Art and Technology Academy, the Earth Justice Academy and an upcoming Sports Medicine academy that is currently in the works. These learning programs offer students personalized education opportunities to further their studies.

The school also offers multiple advanced placement classes with several Nationally Board Certified teachers classes along with 57 extra-curricular clubs and activities.

Venice High School’s newspaper “The Oarsman” has won many different awards, including the National Newspaper Pacemaker Award in 2012.

Venice is also home of multiple champion sports teams, such as softball, girls volleyball, football and golf.

“Ever since I’ve been working here, every day I’ve found more reasons why Venice is the best school ever,” said current principal Oryla Wiedoft. “It’s no surprise.”
