The girls water polo team record so far is 4-2. They’ve played against LACES, Palisades, Banning, El Camino Real, and San Pedro.

The pool was closed down throughout winter break, causing the team to play against two teams with no practice, and still coming out with wins against Banning and San Pedro with a score of 16 to 8 and against San Pedro with the score of 15 to 5.

“The team this year is mainly new, so it’s really impressive to see us grow as players and as a team,” said team captain Ingrid Hernandez.

Last year, the team made it to round 2 in the playoffs and were seeded number one in the city. They would’ve been able to continue if they hadn’t lost against Eagle Rock on Feb. 15, 2016, 4-0.

The team feels really confident about this season and feels that this year’s team is one of the best they’ve ever had.

“We have a lot of potential this year,” said team captain Danielle Cid. “ We are definitely going to the playoffs this year.”
