The LAX Coastal Chamber of Commerce team of professionals came to Venice High on May 15, to do a resume building and a job interview skills workshop. The event was held in the Student Cafeteria after school. This event was made to help students prepare for life outside of high school and be more confident in finding a job.

The event counted with roughly 40 students and eight professionals who separated the students into four different groups to talk about job interview skills and worked with them to create their resume. Professionals explained to students the importance of using proper speech, dressing accordingly and saying the right things at the right time.

Venice High also hosted a College Essay Writing workshop on Thursday, May 18, to prepare juniors for the college applications they will be writing during senior year. According to Principal Oryla Wiedoeft, these events were organized because students at Venice High have a lot of potential, but need more guidance.
