As the holiday season approaches, everyone needs a go-to hot chocolate and whipped cream recipe for Christmas movie marathons and chilly days. Enjoy!
1 cup of milk
2 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. cinnamon
⅔ cup sugar
2 tbsp. vanilla caramel coffee creamer (optional)
½ cup heavy cream
1 tbsp. sugar
dash of cinnamon
Add milk to medium saucepan on medium heat. As milk warms up, add unsweetened cocoa powder and sugar. Stir until fully combined and clumps have dissolved. Add vanilla, coffee creamer and cinnamon. Stir until combined. When the mixture has reached the desired temperature, remove from heat and serve in a mug. Double the recipe for two people.
For whipped cream: add heavy cream and sugar to mixing bowl and with an electric mixer, beat the heavy cream for 6-7 minutes or until light and fluffy. Be careful not to overmix because the heavy cream will turn into butter. Serve a generous amount of whipped cream in each mug and finish with a dash of cinnamon. Enjoy!
