Being vegan, I hate preparing food every day. It can be a real headache. Lucky for me, there’s a few great, completely vegan restaurants located on the West Side. None of these places make their food with meat, dairy or eggs. I became vegan because I prefer not to consume other living beings or anything that has come from them.
1.One that many people might have already heard of is Veggie Grill. They have 11 locations all around the city of L.A, the closest one being in Santa Monica. This is one of the cheaper vegan spots, with a menu filled with your basic American-style food, like imitation hamburgers and steak dinners. Veggie Grill has more of a bland taste and high calorie foods, but nevertheless it is a suitable place to pick up a quick vegan dinner.

2. Another great find is Sage Vegan Bistro. With three locations in Culver City, Echo Park and now Pasadena, they have five different menus: breakfast, brunch, lunch/dinner, family style and dessert. Finding something equivalent to junk food is hard to find that’s vegan, but Sage offers a variety of different types of food to meet whatever you’re in the mood for. When I’m in the mood to pig out, the Mac and Cheese Pizza made with fake cheese and dairy free bread is the best comfort food.

3. Last but not least, is an all time favorite. The Vegan Joint is a diamond in the rough restaurant located in West LA. They too offer full menus with different flavors but are more focused on affordable Thai-based vegan foods. Their yellow curry is to die for, it’s a good sized bowl that includes tofu, potatoes and a bunch of other great vegetables. Another to recommend, is the Pad Thai. It’s very tasty and full of delicious spicy flavors.

Vegan or not, these three places are great, trendy places to enjoy with your friends. Not to mention, they’re absolutely delicious.
