With the pressures of Valentine’s Day, everyone wants to find something special for that special person in their life. Whether it be for a friend, family member or fling, giving gifts can be stressful and overwhelming, especially if they’re last-minute. Here are a few small gift ideas that are simple, sweet and won’t break the bank.
I Love You Basket: An I Love You Basket doesn’t necessarily have to be a basket, it can be anything from a gift bag to a decorated box. The “basket” is meant to be filled with small things that your person enjoys, such as snacks, candy, socks, or even a small stuffed animal.
Memory/ Favorite Song Playlist: If you have a music fan, an easy and thoughtful gift for them is a playlist on your favorite music platform. You can fill the playlist with songs that remind them of you, their favorite songs, songs that you and the person share memories with or spell a message out with the titles.
“The songs you pick can help you express your feelings for the person if you have trouble telling people how you feel,” said freshman Julia Rosales.
Meaningful Letter, Note or Card: Let your person of interest know how you feel with a heartfelt letter, note or card. The message doesn’t have to be long and can be whatever you want it to be; cheesy, funny or sentimental.
“Personally even the smallest gesture like a card means a lot, just knowing someone who cares about you took their time to do that for you is the sweetest,” said freshman Angie Herrera Barrera. This is a perfect way to let them know how important they are and how much they mean to you, especially since writing letters and cards is uncommon these days.
If all else fails, give a gift card: Gift-cards are the perfect gift if you don’t know what to get a person because they can pick out a gift themselves. Choose one from their favorite store, brand, place to eat or get a gift card for something you both can enjoy, like dinner or movie tickets.
