Baseball season is yet to commence. The team is positioned for a strong campaign due to their status of making it to the second round of Division I playoffs last season. To prepare for the season, the boys have been conditioning daily and have also been getting batting practice to get their groove going. Most importantly, they have been working on one of their greatest weaknesses; defense.

Both seniors and team captains Kai Casillas and Andres Becerra have high hopes for this upcoming season.

“Even though we struggled throughout the fall to have a fully present team due to injured players and other uprising issues, I trust the strength of our core and returning players who have the experience I think it takes for us to greatly improve and have a successful season this year,” said Casillas in a text.

Casillas is devoted to cultivating in his teammates competitiveness and confidence in their ability to create a successful team.

Due to the softball field being torn down because of construction, the boys occassionaly have been sharing the baseball field with softball players. Although this impedes them from practicing full time, they still do what they have to do to get things done.

Their first season home game will officially take place at 11 a.m. on Sat. Feb. 15.
