The second annual Venice High student Art Show, sponsored by the MEDIA Small Learning Community, will be presented this year in the newly restored Fine Arts Building on April 8, 9 and 10. Artwork created by students of art teachers Christopher Wright and Margo Fownes and graphic arts teacher Art Lindauer will be on display.

Teachers are invited to bring their students to the art show. A parent and community reception will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 9. The Fine Arts Building is located at the eastern end of the East Building.

Last year’s show was held in the cafeteria, but had to be moved this year because of Breakfast in the Classroom’s need to keep supplies there.

Students at last year’s show voted for their favorite artwork. The winners were:
1st place – Krysta Gutierrez, tempera painting of wolf
2nd place – Kevin Soriano, tempera painting of cheetah
3rd place – Maddy Gordon, aboriginal art painting of kangaroo

The art show will be held in the fine arts building.
