Cynthia Headrick has been named as the next principal of Venice High beginning the 2021-2022 school year.

A resident of the Venice neighborhood, Headrick sees the principal position as a great opportunity to give back to her community and gain a greater connection to the diversity Venice has to offer.

“I live in the neighborhood, and I just love the whole area,” she said. “I really believe in our community.”

Headrick comes to Venice High from Cheviot Hills High School where she served as principal and prior to that, she served as assistant principal at both University and Los Angeles High.

As she begins her career at Venice High, Headrick said she hopes to improve the school’s graduation rate, as well as make students more aware of their digital footprint and the impact their words can have on others, even in a virtual setting.

“We are all here to support each one of our students no matter what it takes,” she said.

Music teacher David Lee, states “I trust the judgment of our elected members of School-based Management. I look forward to the growth and success Principal Headrick will guide our school and community towards in the coming years.”
