Rams: One Game Away From Super Bowl
January 29, 2022
The road to the Super Bowl has come down to one game for the Rams, who would be just the second team in NFL history to play the Super Bowl at home. The Rams barely kept their hopes alive this past weekend as they beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by a close score of 30-27.
This past weekend of playoff games didn’t disappoint as we saw several upsets and high-scoring games, especially by the Bills and Chiefs.
The Rams game was a back-and-forth matchup between two highly talented teams. The Rams almost gave up a come from behind 24 points lead to the Buccaneers, who tried to rally their way back to win the game. The game was nerve-wracking and after a crazy comeback, I really couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Was their season about to end? Was the pressure too much?
When it mattered most, Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford delivered in one of the biggest moments of the season. The game was tied at 27 points with just 20 seconds left, and the crowd was about ready to erupt. Stafford let the ball go, and at that moment you knew it was a do-or-die situation for the Rams. Win or go home!
It almost seemed like the Rams’ season was falling apart, but receiver Cooper Kupp, who was having an outstanding game, was able to make the catch! He outran the defender in a matter of seconds, running as fast as he could in order to keep the season going. Stafford spiked the ball with a few seconds left to stop the clock, and the Rams won on a game-winning field goal as time expired. What an outstanding game!
This Sunday, the Rams move on to the NFC Conference Championship game against their rival the San Francisco 49ers to determine who will move on to the Super Bowl. The Rams will travel back to LA for the game with a chance at hosting Superbowl 56 at home on the line at SoFi Stadium. What a great opportunity the Rams have to capitalize on a fantastic season and win a deserved championship for the city of LA!
Here are four bold predictions:
- Matthew Stafford will throw four passing touchdowns
- Von Miller and Aaron Donald will record a combined six sacks
- The Rams defense will force three turnovers
- Cooper Kupp will have over 180 receiving yards
Go Rams!
