It’s not everyday that L.A. gets to host the Super Bowl—but what about the fact that senior Miles Davies actually performed at SoFi Stadium?

Not only is Davies the drum major of the Mighty Gondolier Marching Band, but he also got what some would call a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity” by being in Sunday’s game with LAUSD’s All-City Marching Band. Davies was on the field, dressed as a hooded dancer, while Snoop Dogg performed his section in the halftime show.

Davies was there to serve as part of the field cast for the 15 minute show and danced while Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Snoop Dogg and Mary J. Blige performed.

He had been practicing at SoFi Stadium in the days leading up to the big game, and was able to see the show come together. Davies was even able to watch the announcers practice their lines for the game.

He was within shouting distance of this year’s halftime performers.

“They were close to us to the point you could maybe shout as they walked by, but I never got a one-on-one type thing,” he said. Davies also described how he could hear the singers playing around and goofing off during the rehearsal, which (in his opinion) was one of the coolest takeaways.

The Super Bowl is no small event—and performing at such a big event must have come with big nerves for Davies.

“On the stage was phenomenal—all those people shouting,” he said. “Once you stepped onto the field, out of the tunnel, everything changed and it felt so real so quick.”

With such a momentous win for L.A., seeing as though our team won, it is also a memory that Davies will never forget.

“This experience is one of the best I’ve had, and I don’t think many will be able to top it.”
