The girl’s volleyball season began recently with a match against Carson High School on Aug. 30.

“We played well,” said volleyball coach Allen Hunt. Venice lost to Carson 3-0.

The girls recently held a tournament on Saturday, Aug. 3 and are preparing for another this Saturday, Sept. 10. “It went real well. We made playoffs.” said Coach Hunt when asked about the team’s recent tournament. This Saturday’s tournament will be held at Venice.

When asked about star athletes in the team, Coach Hunt spoke of three team players; captain Sophia Howling , captain Kaitlyn Craig, “a dynamic junior” and Victoria Corpus, “a dynamic sophomore.”

The girls have a home game on Wednesday, Sept. 10 against Chatsworth at 5:30 p.m. The team competed against Chatsworth in last season’s City Section Championships.

If you would like to watch the girl’s volleyball team in action, there will be a home game against Palisades on Sept. 14.
