There are a lot of benefits to learning how to cook, especially if you spend a lot of your time home alone.
Some people feel like cooking is always a hassle and end up just going out to eat or ordering something. The problem with that is you spend so much money a month when you could just cook something up cheap at home. “The average American spends $232 per month eating meals prepared outside the home,” says Trent Hamm from thesimpledollar.com.
I know cooking can be hard for some people especially if no one teaches you. You can go online and look up recipes or go on YouTube and try to recreate a recipe. Even if you get it wrong the first time, you can keep trying until you get it right.
Students sometimes depend on their parents to cook for them because they can’t. I know most of the time teenagers are too lazy to cook something so they just don’t eat, but that can be really bad for their health.
Some parents don’t like teaching their sons how to cook because they think it’s only a woman’s job. They think that only women should know how to cook so in the future they can cook for their families, but it shouldn’t just be for women. By teaching their sons how to cook, they can show them how to care for themselves and not depend on anyone.
Ask your parents to buy groceries that are easy for you to cook. Like eggs, tuna, rice, corn, and broccoli. With that, you can make scrambled eggs for breakfast, rice and tuna for lunch, and vegetables for dinner.
You can even go on Pinterest and find easy recipes. You can look up foods that you have in your house and the site will help you figure out what to cook.
