The cross country team’s season has come to an end. With runners making it all the way to the L.A. City Finals, their season proved to be very successful.

The girls captain, senior Priscilla Ruelas, has been on the team all of her four years at Venice. Ruelas made  Western League finals, but unfortunately did not advance.

“ I enjoyed being captain,” said Ruelas “ and seeing my team grow throughout the years.”

Ruelas plans on returning to Venice after she graduates to help coach Vidal Sandoval with next year’s team.

Junior  Israel Mendoza, along with 13 other runners, advanced to the City Finals. Mendoza says he is determined to make it to state finals next season and represent Venice.

Track season starts next semester. Runners should make sure to go talk to Mr. Sandoval in room 51 if they’re interested in joining the track team.
