Q & A Varsity Basketball
December 5, 2017
Basketball season has started and the Oarsman decided to interview three well-known players. They were asked about being captains, what are they looking forward to this season and how long have they played here at Venice.
Terrance Washington: “As a captain, just being able to get everyone together to work is good. A vocal leader is necessary. This season I look forward to going back to City Finals and I’m gonna work hard every day to get there. This is my third year, so I’m gonna ball out.”
Meka Nwiwu: “What I enjoy most is pushing my teammates to the next level and out of their comfort zone to go further towards our goal. I’m looking forward to come close or even beat Fairfax High and Westchester High. Most of all I want to win the city championship and get a ring. I started playing sophomore year so I’ve been playing for three years.”
Saul Uribe: “I’ve been playing here at Venice since freshman year. I look forward to a memorable season with this team. I think we have a lot of potential and together we will be ready to put up a championship banner this year.
