Girls Water Polo off to a Rough Start

The girls water polo team’s first game of the semester was on Jan. 12 against San Pedro, a game they lost with a score of 10-18. The girls record is 0-5 so far. Last year the teams record was 4-4 and they made it to first round of playoffs.

The girls played against Palisades on Jan. 17 at Palisades, they were tied with a score of 3-3 for the first half, however lost the game with a score of 16-3.

The girls continue to practice hard and the captains Alissa Okada and Natalie Martinez continue to push their team to try and make it to City Finals.

“I love my team,” said varsity player Kat Reyes. “Practice is always fun when I’m with them and we can always bond.”

The team didn’t have many home game since the semester started however the first one was on Friday Jan. 26 against El Camino which they lost with a score of 12-6.

The girls are looking forward to the rest of their season and are ready to work as hard as they can to achieve their goal.
