The MEDIA Art Show and the Earth Day celebration will take place this week. Works from visual arts classes at Venice as well as photographs from the 10-week PhotoVoice afterschool program will be featured in the art show.  Ms. Ruth Greene, Ms. Nancy Zubiri, Ms. Hiroko Nomachi and Mr. Brian Blesser are working together to organize all of the events.

In the Earth Day Celebration on April 18, there will be different booths set up by science and math teachers and performances by VHS’s Allegros and Thespians. Students will be able to take part in the celebration if their teachers sign up for it, and community members will be welcome to attend as well. Teachers will also have to sign up for the Art Show and students will vote for their favorite artwork.

In years past, the MEDIA Art Show has been in the lobby of the auditorium and in the cafeteria, but this year it  will be held in the new MEDIA Arts building (rooms five and six). This is the first time in three years that the MEDIA Arts building will be open. The Art Show will take place over three days from April 18 to April 20, and a parent reception will be held on April 18 from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
