The LA Rams Are On a Roll
December 13, 2018
After coming off one of their best seasons in franchise history, the Los Angeles Rams have very high expectations to met this year. With the Super Bowl in mind, the Rams went out and signed big-name free agents like Aqib Talib and Ndamukong Suh. The Rams are stacked at almost every position on the field and are a nightmare for opposing teams. With quarterback Jared Goff and running back Todd Gurley II having their best seasons of their young careers, the Rams are looking to make a deep playoff run and win the Super Bowl.
The Rams are off to a sizzling 11-1 start to the season, the best record in the NFL. With an MVP-caliber season from Goff and the reigning Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald standing out, the Rams are destroying teams.
With talent all around the field and a great head coach, Sean McVay, a Super Bowl appearance doesn’t seem too far fetched. Junior Kai Casillas believes that it is possible for the Rams to win the Super Bowl this year.
“They are one of the most balanced teams in the league,” said Casillas, “They excel in all aspects of the game.”
However, this won’t as easy for the Rams as most people think. Conference foes New Orleans Saints, who are 10-2, are the only team to beat the Rams this year. And other teams like the Kansas City Chiefs and the New England Patriots may pose a challenge for the Rams in the playoffs. Senior Sebastien Balembois thinks that the Rams could run into trouble in the playoffs.
“The Saints and Chiefs match the Rams in offensive firepower with decent defenses as well,” said Balembois. “On paper, the Patriots don’t look nearly as good, but you can never doubt [quarterback] Tom Brady and [head coach] Bill Belichick.”
After a disappointing end to last season, with an early first-round exit out of the playoffs, the Rams have gained a valuable year of experience that can lead them to a Super Bowl victory this season. With a great young core of talent and a city dying for a championship, the Rams are looking to win it all this year.
