The girls water polo team won its January 21 game against University High School 28-4. They currently have a 2-3 overall record, and a 2-2 league record.

“Well we didn’t have a pool for a month and that impacted us as a team a lot.” said junior Virginia Villalta.

The pool was temporarily closed as they were draining it so they could clean it.

“We have to all be motivated and dedicated to the sport and to each other because sometimes we forget we are a team and this is a group effort. Villalta is convinced they will succeed this season.

“I feel this season was difficult in the sense that we have a new coach Mr.Barton Gawboy to work with and all the girls are still adjusting since we had a handful of new girls.” said junior Carmen Martinez.

Their next game will  be against LACES on January 28 at 3 pm.
