Things to Keep you Busy During Quarantine
May 25, 2020
During these challenging times, it’s hard to stay entertained inside your home. Here are some ideas that may help you to keep busy during the COVID-19 quarantine:
-Exercise: If you want to stay physically active, try some exercise. At-home exercises can include sit-ups, jumping jacks and even yoga to taking walks in the neighborhood, while social distancing of course.
-New Hobbies: Taking on new hobbies can include cooking or baking, learning to play a new instrument or learning how to sew.
-Meditation: To relieve stress, you can try meditating to focus on your mental health. There are apps like Calm that can help you set up a schedule on when to meditate.
–Reading: Reading a good book can help you get away from what’s going on and take you to another world. It’s a good way to pass time and increase your knowledge. If your library is still closed, you could find some books in little libraries in your neighborhood, trade with a friend or just order off Amazon and have it delivered to you.
–Staying connected: Keep in touch with friends and family through social media/video chats like Skype or Zoom. To get a little more creative, you can also send letters to each other.
-Video Games: Video games are another way to escape what’s going on for a little while. You have a variety of options from calming simulation games to fast-paced shooter games. This helps with social distancing due to multiplayer or online co-op games as well. Players can talk to each other via microphones on their headphones.
–Help with chores: You can also help around the house with chores to pass time and help your family out. Things like doing the laundry, washing dishes and cleaning the bathroom will benefit the entire family and keep you busy.
