About 190 Venice students signed up to donate blood on March 26 but only 130 were able to donate due to either anemia (a lack of iron) or they did not weigh enough, according to Leadership Sponsor Mr. Danziger. Although this semester a lot more people fainted due to the heat, overall the blood drive was a success and went smoothly, according to Mr. Danziger.

Student Leadership was in charge of the event. Maggie Solorio ran the event along with other students including Leslie Crespo, Andrea Cruz and Esmeralda Banuelos.

All the blood that was donated that day was given to Cedars Sinai Medical Center.
