Finishing with a 6-5 overall record and 4-2 league record, the Venice boys’ basketball team will go on the road to face Crenshaw High School in the CIF Semi-Finals today. The winner of this will move on to play the championship game.

According to boys’ basketball coach David Galley, Crenshaw is a very good team this year, being led by guard Kevin Bradley, an all-city player who handles pressure well and is a great scorer once he gets going.

“Our game plan is to limit their second-chance points and take good care of the basketball,” Galley said. “If we shoot well, play hard defense, and rebound the ball, we will have a great opportunity to play for the championship.”

It won’t be an easy task facing such a talented offensive team, but Galley has a lot of faith in the Gondoliers and is proud of the way this team has fought through adversity. ]

“I am really proud of this young team that has had to go through a lot of non-basketball regulations,” Galley said. “Between two to three COVID tests a week and late nights sharing the gym with other teams, these student-athletes have done a tremendous job.”
