Boys’ Basketball Moves Forward To Semi-Finals Against Rancho Verde

Boys’ basketball has moved forward onto the CIF DIII State City Semifinals against Rancho Verde after a stellar 54-34 victory yesterday against El Camino Real.

The team next will play at Rancho Verde tomorrow at 6:00 PM.

The game was intense, not only because of how close the score was but also because of how aggressive both teams played. These were two teams who played as though they were competing for a shot at the state championship.

Despite a reasonable height disadvantage against El Camino Real, Venice persisted. By the five-minute mark in the fourth quarter, it seemed reasonable to assume that the Gondoliers would move forward onto the semifinals.

“We knew they were gonna be really tough,” coach David Galley said. “They can shoot and have a nice outside game.”

Coach David Galley predicts that the team will have their work cut out for them tomorrow against Rancho Verde.

“We have to keep working,” he said. “We got a ways to go, but we’ll get there.”
