Following their 3-0 home victory over the LACES Unicorns on Thursday, boys’ volleyball will look to hold off LACES once again in their road rematch today. The game will take place at 4:00 P.M.

Down three starters, the Gondoliers still managed to handily beat the Unicorns in Thursday’s outing, according to senior Johndiego White, a captain.

“We focused on making sure the offense facilitated well,” White said.

Senior Josh Martinez, another captain, thought the chemistry was great and the team cleaned up a lot of their mistakes. But most importantly, the team had fun, Martinez said.

Because the Unicorns likely made adjustments ahead of Monday’s rematch, the Gondoliers will respond by working on implementing new lineups and finding chemistry, White said.

“We will solidify our playoff rotations to prepare for this and for our upcoming tournaments,” White said.

White also adds that Venice will continue moving hitters around and getting them open looks on offense. Defensively, they will block and defend LACES’ star player better.

According to Martinez, the Gondoliers will stick to their gameplan, spread the offense and play incredible defense.

“We’ll play smooth, clean, efficient offense and adjust from there,” Martinez said.
