Baseball Update

Baseball season has commenced, and the team is positioned for a strong campaign due to their status as Western League Champions last season.

In their most recent game against Taft High School on March 11, Venice lost with the ending score of 2-1. The team also lost with a score of 2-1 on March 8, against Roosevelt High School

The team won games against San Fernando High School (9-3) and Sylmar High School (14-2).

On March 1, the baseball team played Brentwood High School and won with a score of 7-1.

On their first game of the season Feb. 25, they lost to Sierra Canyon High School with a score of 22-0,

With a promising season ahead of them, the Venice High baseball team hopes to prosper.

“I expect great things for the season,” said varsity catcher Matthew Jaffe, “Last year we made it to semifinals so we are hoping to go further into playoffs and compete at Dodger Stadium in the city championships.”
