The Venice golf team has not been playing or competing against other golf teams this whole season due to the lack of players. The requirement of competing against other golf teams is a minimum of five players. Two players aren’t eligible to play because of their athletic clearance. However, two strong players that are on the varsity golf team, Sofia Alonso and Caitlyn Sasamori, have been accepted to compete in the Southern California Regional Championship. These two girls were the only golf players to make it from Venice to the championship.

”I’m happy that I was accepted to play and compete in this tournament. It’s been great and will be a good experience,” said Alonso.

Kevin Behrendt, the coach of the golf team, is proud of Sasamori and Alonso for being accepted. Practices are Monday through Thursdays.
