Juniors Danielle Asenas and Belen Teferi competed in the SkillsUSA Regional Graphic Communication Competition, at LA Trade Tech in Downtown LA on Jan. 24, and won gold and silver medals.

SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, industry representatives and teachers, working together to ensure that America has a workforce that is skilled for multiple professions.

Normally the competitors would have to complete a task, but since there were few competitors the rules were different. The rules of the competition were: bring in a project they were working on or had finished, describe how they are working on it or finished it, bring in a resume, have a small interview, and do a 40-question written exam in graphic communications.

Asenas will move onto the state competition later in the Spring, and Teferi may be going there as well.
