Principal Oryla Wiedoeft is on a leave of absence due to complications resulting from previous aggressive cancer treatment, according to Dr. Wiedoeft. She is expected to return on October 15.
In her absence, there will be two interim principals at Venice High, Mrs. Fonna Bishop and Mr. Robert Marks.
Both of the interim principals have a combined 94 years of being public school leaders, according to Dr. Wiedoeft.
Mr. Marks has had many years of experience as an administrator, and is a retired Los Angeles Unified School District principal, Mr. Marks said.
Once Mr. Marks leaves, Mrs. Bishop will take his place as the interim principal.
