Principal Cynthia Headrick Leaves Venice High

Principal+Cynthia+Headrick+Leaves+Venice+High

Principal Cynthia Headrick is leaving Venice High after two years. She will go on to work as the Director of Options and Virtual Academies within LAUSD.

Reflecting on her time spent at Venice, Headricks said she’s proud that all students that were eligible for the graduation in 2023 did in fact graduate.

“We did not leave any student behind,” she said. “The staff worked hard to support all the seniors.”

Headrick said she was “very proud” of her involvement in the development of many on-campus renovations.

Headrick is also proud of the student body and will miss working with them at Venice.

“Every day that I was at Venice, I was proud of the students,” said Headrick. “I will truly miss being a Gondo.”

Dr. Felipe Velez will be interim principal as the schools hiring committee interviews for the permanent principal position.
