Boys’ Volleyball, 36-6 overall, are heading south to San Diego to face the Francis Parker Lancers, 23-12, tonight at 6 p.m.
The Gondoliers’ goal tonight is to simply “Win. That’s it,” said senior Justin Chen, a captain alongside senior Noah Smith.
This match is especially high stakes for the program, being in Division Two State playoffs compared to Division Three the previous years.
“We lost to La Costa Canyon last year, a San Diego team, during the state playoffs,” he said. “We are hoping to avenge that loss through Francis Parker.”
Despite the loss last Saturday to the El Camino Royals in the LA City Open Division Championships, the Gondoliers are locked in and ready for tonight.
“It’s been the competition that I have been looking for all year, with all the high level players against other high level players,” Chen said. “So it should be a dogfight.”
