Peanut Butter Cookies!

With the holidays coming up, finding an easy and simple dessert recipe can be challenging to find. Peanut butter sugar cookies are not only quick and easy to make, but they are also quite delicious. My family and I make these cookies all the time, any time, because of their simplicity. These are my favorite cookies to make because you can make them anytime you want with only five ingredients. Try these peanut butter cookies at home this upcoming holiday season.

*Makes about a dozen cookies

  • Ingredients:
  • Hershey’s Kisses Milk Chocolate (one for each cookie)
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • Frosting:
  • 3 tbsp. powdered sugar + 1 tsp. milk
  • a couple drops of food coloring (any color)

Directions:

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or foil.

In a medium bowl, combine peanut butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Once everything is incorporated, get a spoonful of the mixture and roll it into a ball with your hands. Place dough balls at least two inches away from each other. Bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown. While waiting for cookies to finish baking, start to unwrap Hershey’s chocolate. Once cookies are done, take them out of the oven and while they are still hot, push the chocolate Kisses down in the center of the cookie. Let the cookies cool after this is done.

Frosting:

In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar and milk with a fork to avoid clumps. Frosting can be as thin or thick as desired, depending on how much milk is added. Keep in mind that if you don’t add enough powdered sugar, the mixture will be too runny, won’t stick to the cookies and run off the sides. In the end, mixture should be shiny and resemble melted store-bought frosting. Once frosting is at desired consistency, add 1-2 drops of food coloring. In the end, mixture should be shiny and smooth. Drizzle frosting over cookies. Store cookies in a cool, dry place.
