Ways to Stay Fit Over Summer

There are many different ways to stay healthy and fit. You have to make sure your’re eating right, exercising daily, and taking care of your body. Exercising and eating habits play a very important role in stay fit. Here are some things you can do to get in shape this summer.

Exercises

  • Running one mile a day is a huge step forward to staying fit. It keeps you in shape, helps you lose weight, and burns off calories. Four laps around the school track will equal a mile.
  • Doing three sets of one-minute planks is a great way to gain endurance and strength in your abs, back, and core. It improves your posture, balance, and works out your hamstrings.
  • Push-ups helps improve your upper body strength. Doing three sets of 20 should really help your shoulder and back muscles.
  • Doing three sets of 20 squats will help build your leg muscles.
  • Lunges are a great way to shape your body and lose weight. Doing three sets of 20 lunges a day will help improve the muscle in your hips, hamstrings, butt, and quadriceps in your thighs.

Eating Habits

  • Make sure you eat foods that are on the food pyramid, which includes meat and beans, grains, fruit, vegetables, and milk.
  • Try to eat food that are high in fiber like broccoli, brussels sprouts, black beans, lentils, split peas, etc.
  • Balanced proportions of food
  • Try to drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day
  • Avoid foods high in salt, sugar and that are high in saturated fats

What Not To Do

  • Avoid taking short cuts, like starving yourself or other weight loss myths
  • Avoid taking pills or supplements that claim to help you lose weight
  • Avoid taking steroids
