With one meet and invitational left in the season, the cross country team hopes to advance into the Western League finals, city preliminaries and eventually city finals.

This year’s team is looking very promising with all the rookies excited to be runners, along with several returnees.

” I enjoy the adrenaline in the race,” rookie and star runner Emmanuel Cadena, a soccer player turned runner, said, “You get a funny feeling in your stomach when you get that first step in the race. Everything that you’ve worked hard for comes together.”

Runners Levi Premer, Israel Lopez, and Emmanuel Cadena have the best personal records on the team, with 16:00, 16:19, and 16:22 respectively. They are a few key factors as to why Venice is ranked second in the Western League.
