  1. Red Dead Redemption 2

This game, set to be released in the second quarter of this year by Rockstar Games, is the third installment in the Red Dead series.  Prequel to the original Red Dead Redemption that was released back in 2010, this is a western-based RPG (role playing game) following the adventure of Arthur Morgan who is a part of the Van der Linde gang. Unlike the first game, Red Dead Redemption 2 will feature a multiplayer online mode along with the single player mode that will probably be similar to Grand Theft Auto V online with the difference being the western setting. The game will be released on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

  1. God of War

God of War is a PlayStation 4 exclusive to be released in the first quarter of this year. We have the return of protagonist Kratos, but this time he is not alone. Kratos will be accompanied by his son Atreus. Unlike previous releases of the God of War series that were based on Greek mythology, this one will be based on Norse mythology. The biggest change to the series apart from the addition of Kratos’ son is that Kratos will no longer have his chain blades as a weapon as these were lost in the previous game. Kratos will now have a magical weapon called the Leviathan Axe that he will be able to be throw at enemies and then it returns to him. The game will reveal information about Kratos’ past and influence Atreus to make decisions on whether he wants to be like his father or be a completely different person.

  1. Spider-Man

Based on the super hero Spider-Man from the Marvel Comics, this video game is to be released in the first half of 2018. Based in New York, players will get to explore and fight crime as Spider-Man and get a completely new story about the hero that has never been told in any film, comic, or previous Spider-Man video game, according to Insomniac Games. Peter Parker (Spider-man’s secret identity) will be available as a playable character during parts of the game, as well as Mary Jane Watson.

  1. Far Cry 5

From Ubisoft comes the 11th game in the Far Cry series. Similar to previous Far Cry games, this will be a first-person shooter with an open world that players will be able to explore; this time set in the fictional Hope County, Montana. Joseph Seed, a preacher who has been chosen to protect its people, forms a religious group that takes over and converts everybody. Players will be a Sheriff who also makes his own group in order to stop Seed and the plans of the religious clan. Far Cry 5 will also include the recruitment system where players get to gather local people to join them to fight certain causes. Players can even control animals as was seen in Far Cry Primal to use them for assistance in their journeys. This game will have both a single player and a cooperative multiplayer mode and be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows on March 27.

  1. Yoshi (No official title yet)

The latest Yoshi game by Good-Feel will be of side-scrolling platform exclusive for the Nintendo Switch. What makes this game special from other side-scrolling games is that it will be played from two opposite views. Players will have to switch views while playing to get to hidden objects that are only visible from one view. Like many Yoshi-related games, Yoshi will be able to use his tongue to eat enemies and make them into eggs to use against other enemies. Yoshi will also have a multiplayer mode where multiple Yoshis will be used to get through levels. Although there is no official title or release date, it has been announced at E3 that the game will be out in 2018.
