My name is Michelle Mateo and I am a senior in the World Language Magnet at Venice High School. I identify as a Oaxacan immigrant even though I was born here in the United States. At school, I am co-president of the Academic Decathlon team and have been taking Mandarin for four years now. I also practice Muay Thai Boxing on a daily basis. In the future, I hope to be involved in local politics while moonlighting as a tattoo artist.
